Dr. Maral Bayaraa is a scientist with a track record of leading technical projects in both operational and cutting-edge R&D environments, with a particular focus on environmental sustainability. Her work in Earth observation and data science spans collaborations with industrial, academic, and policy stakeholders.

Maral’s research at the University of Oxford has been recognised with several prestigious awards:

Maral currently works as a Senior Earth Observation Consultant at the Satellite Applications Catapult, the UK government’s innovation and technology hub. She also represents the UK Space Agency as Co-Chair at CEOS, the international coordinating body of civil space-based Earth Observation programs from space agencies e.g. ESA, NASA, ISRO, JAXA.
